Carrots help you to see in the dark, oranges are the best source of vitamin C and not eating fruit in the evening are some false ideas about the food we should ignore. Studies show that a lot of people still believe in many food myths nowadays.

Often the difference between truth and a myth can be unclear, so it’s important to get information from sources you can trust to know what is really good for you and what is not.

These are the Top food myths British people believe

1. Oranges are the best natural source of vitamin C

Strawberries actually contain more vitamin C than oranges. Just seven strawberries have the recommended daily amount of vitamin C that contributes to the normal function of the immune system of our bodies.

2. Carrots help you to see in the dark

This is a myth, but carrots do contain vitamin A, which is important for good vision.

3. Organic fruit is the healthiest

There is no nutritional difference between organic and non-organic fruit.

4. We should not eat fruit after 2 pm

Fruit is healthy at any time of day.
